Cr Dickerson recently had a teleconference with the Essential Energy Streetlight Consultative Committee and he said LED lighting was one of the topics discussed.
"It's a strange situation with LED lighting. We all talk about LED lighting being a preference and being able to use LED lighting because it's less power consumption but Essential Energy has no standard for using LED lighting," he said.
Essential Energy were developing a trial to make a decision regarding LED lighting, Cr Dickerson said.
As with every meeting he has had with the committee so far, Cr Dickerson said the replacement of streetlights was also brought up.
He said Essential Energy repeated it was up to members of the public to report faulty streetlights and they would look into complaints that reports weren't being addressed quickly enough.
Essential Energy can be called on 132 080 for street light faults or they can be reported via www.essentialenergy.com.au/streetlight.
