Councillor Billy McAnally who was mayor in the last council, swept in with almost 25 per cent of the vote (930) while his nearest rival Sue McCutcheon had 427 votes (11.46 per cent).
Next in the sequence of election was Cr Les Lambert, 10.38 per cent; Ruth Carney, 8.78 per cent; Craig Davies, 6.15 per cent, Ivan Truscott, 8.35 per cent; George Mack, 6.39 per cent; Dawn Collins, 7.01 per cent; and, Tony Ellis, 6.36 per cent.
Meanwhile in Wellington, the manager of the Wellington Information and Neighbourhood Centre Alison Conn has won the last place on the council in a photo finish from former councillor Roger Everett.
Marcus Hanney also scraped through on the second last count, thanks to preferences.
The councillors who have been elected officially in order are: Anne Jones, Pip Smith, Mark Griggs, David Grant, Rod Buhr, Graham Cross, Terry Dray, Marcus Hanney and Alison Conn.
In the west of the region, Bogan Shire mayor, Ray Donald, was elected in first position with 425 votes (27.16 per cent) while Kevin Ryan was in second spot with 411 votes (26.26 per cent)
Third spot went to Greg Deacon (8.24 per cent), Glen Neill, (9.78 per cent) Jodi Douglas (5.69 per cent) Jim Hampstead, (4.47 per cent) Danny Dutton, (6.45 per cent) Hazel Griffiths, (5.56 per cent) and Elaine McLaughlin (2.43 per cent).
Cobar Shire mayor Lilliane Brady was elected in first place with John Harrison next.
Other councillors elected for the new term at Cobar included: Marsha Isbester, Tracey Kings, Jarrod Marsden, Greg Martin, Peter Maxwell, Bob Sinclair, Pam Smith, Harley Toomey, Raymond Wilson and Peter Yench.
