Both teams had been close on points during their clashes in the preliminary matches and it was anticipated this encounter would be no different.
However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Marvels were a player down which meant Ron Everett had to sub up a line, putting pressure on his team.
Ron won his own match but could not repeat the performance on the next line up.
The grand final went to Assassins on 14 points to the Marvels on nine points.
The winners for the Assassins were Justin Andrews over Aaron Mould (three games to two) in a thriller match, Warwick Burke over sub Ron Everett (three games to nil), Courtenay Ley over Kayla Strudwick (three games to one) and Hailey Andrews over Melissa Nairne (three games to nil).
The winners for the Marvels were Sandy Aich over Ian Shepherdson in another five-game marathon, and Ron Everett over Kobe Andrews (three games to nil).
Our next competitions have started with the Tuesday night competition beginning at 6pm and Wednesday night competition kicking off at 7pm.
Anyone interested in playing can nominate by contacting Beryl on 6882 2381 as soon as possible.
