"We are delighted to have jazz on the menu in our 2015 Concert series," Macquarie Conservatorium director Vivienne Winther said.
"And who could be better than the Janet Seidel Trio, who tour extensively overseas but always make time for regional towns as well."
The Janet Seidel Trio is well known to Australian and international audiences as accomplished jazz performers, with a repertoire that ranges through classic jazz, Latin, pop and country styles. Janet Seidel provides the sophisticated vocals and piano, Chuck Morgan improvises brilliantly on guitar and ukulele, and David Seidel plays a swinging double bass.
The Trio was formed in 2000, when siblings Janet and David Seidel invited Chuck Morgan to play with them on a recording called The Art of Lounge.
The Trio features a range of music in their concerts, with the songs of Cole Porter and George Gershwin up front and centre, and the Trio's style is influenced by the big names of jazz.
As well as their Dubbo concert, the Janet Seidel Trio will hold their renowned Ukulele Workshop for adults and children from 10-years-old on September 12 and 13.
"The ukulele has become a very popular instrument again, with people of all ages taking it up," Seidel said.
"People are just astonished at how much more they can do on the ukulele as the workshop goes along."
