Dubbo City Council's director parks and landcare Murray Wood said four advanced River Red Gums and four River Cooba trees were planted along the Newell Highway frontage.
"The eight trees will be planted at Katrina Gibbs Oval where the lack of overhead powerlines and large soil volume provided by the parkland will allow for the trees to develop into very large mature specimens along the Newell Highway," he said.
"The trees will reach a much greater size than the existing mature Kurrajongs being removed from the pump station.
"This planting will be completed by the end of August."
Last month, Dubbo councillors John Walkom and Allan Smith requested an offset plan be developed for the trees at the pump station before they approved their removal.
The trees had to be removed to improve access from Erskine Street and to provide the physical space to complete the $7.3 million upgrade.
Six Designer Flowering Ash trees in raised planter boxes will also be planted, in front of the Sporties Club.
"This will include the installation of irrigation in the pathway linking to the planter boxes. The planter boxes are required due to the underground services present, including a water reticulation recycling system for the Bowling Club."
The work at the Sporties Club is expected to be finished by the end of April 2016.
