► Friday, August 21 - Aboriginal science in Wiradjuri Country at the Macquarie Regional Library at 11am. Join Larry Brandy Aboriginal storyteller for storytime as he shows how Aboriginal people’s knowledge of the environment helped them survive. Discover how many types of boomerangs there are and what an emu caller does. Learn how Aboriginal people have been using science for thousands of years. Bookings essential. Entry is free.
►Friday, August 21 - Sculptures by the River - Workshop at Lazy River Estate from 9am to 5pm. In this new and exciting collaborative workshop, presented by Lazy River Estate and led by local renowned artist Brett ‘Mon’ Garling, students will be given the opportunity to create a full-scale horse sculpture using timber found around Lazy River Estate. Cost is $380 per person.
► Saturday, August 22 - Aboriginal Science at Taronga Western Plains Zoo from 10am to 12pm. Larry Brandy will be showing residents the tricks of the trade on how Aboriginal people’s knowledge of the environment helped them survive. Entry is free.
►Saturday, August 22 and Sunday, August 23 - Sculptures by the River - Exhibition at Lazy River Estate from 11am to 2pm. Guests will be given the opportunity to view the sculptures around the vineyard and may vote for their favourite in the Principle Focus’ Peoples Choice Award. Entry is a gold coin donations, with all proceeds donated to the Pink Angels. Full bar facilities, coffee and cakes will be available in the cellar door.
►Saturday, August 22 - The Paris Underground at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre starting at 8pm. Enter the Paris Underground and journey through the dark delights of the city of light. Witness astounding acts of magic and illusion, spectacular tap dancing, brilliant burlesque, breath taking aerials, quirky circus and song in a classic European cabaret and variety show set in the recreated Macquarie Auditorium Convention Centre.
