The Australian Ballet's regional touring group, The Dancers Company, are bringing a spectacular classical triple bill to the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre.
Dubbo is one of the 12 lucky venues chosen for this particular tour, A Stunning Classical Triple Bill featuring Swan Lake, taking to the stage on August 7 and 8.
This stunning triple bill demonstrates the diversity of classical ballet, from the sumptuous costumes and pristine pointe work of Swan Lake Act III, and Paquita, to the hilarity and athleticism of Rimbombo.
In addition to the shows, Dubbo dancers will also have the opportunity to attend special open classes, giving dance students the chance to participate in a class on stage with a member of the artistic staff, with live piano accompaniment.
Member of The Dancers Company, Brodie James, said the classically driven program possessed a very high level of energy from the dancers.
The Perth-born dancer said he did not take to studying ballet until he was 12-years-old.
"From there, it became my passion," James said.
The riff-raff he experienced in high school did not deter James from chasing his career as a male ballet dancer.
Once learning of Dubbo's highly talented dancing schools, James said he wished to encourage other aspiring male dancers to dream big.
"The only limits people have are the ones they set themselves," he said.
James will make his debut with The Australian Ballet's The Dancers Company on the stage of the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, alongside fellow dancer Valerie Tereshchenko.
To be a part of The Dancers Company, he said, was an incredible opportunity for up and coming dancers.
"It opens a lot of doors for other performances and tours," James said.
Tickets are limited for both performances on Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8.
