Police attempted to stop a car on the Mitchell Highway at Maryvale about 8.15pm on Wednesday, July 15.
A pursuit was initiated after the driver allegedly failed to stop.
A short time later, the car lost control and crashed into a pole.
The passenger, a 18-year-old woman, died at the scene.
The driver was taken to Dubbo Hospital with serious injuries.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following inquiries, the man was arrested at Wellington Police Station about 12.30pm on Tuesday.
The Wellington man was charged with the following offences:
- Aggravated dangerous driving occasioning death;
- Dangerous driving occasioning death;
- Not stop, police pursuit (Skye’s Law); and
- Negligent driving occasioning death.
He was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Wednesday.
