GILGANDRA'S Meegan Trudgett hopes to set a good example for her five sons and become a nurse after she completes her training with TAFE Western's Dubbo College.

Thanks to the generosity of Macquarie Credit Union and TAFE Western, Ms Trudgett's goals are now a step closer after she was presented with a $1000 scholarship to help with her studies from Macquarie Credit Union general manager Matthew Bow.
"Winning this scholarship is wonderful and means I can complete my course by the end of this year," Ms Trudgett said.
"I originally started the certificate III in health service assistance to help me understand some of the health issues affecting my father, but now this course has opened up many doors for me.
"I have also enrolled in certificate III in business administration at TAFE Western Gilgandra College to enhance my skills base and these skills have also assisted me in preparing and presenting my nursing assignments.
"When I have finished these courses I want to continue my studies and one day hopefully become an enrolled nurse."
Mr Bow said he was thrilled to see the scholarship program making such a difference for students, allowing them to complete their studies and achieve success in their chosen careers.
