Times were on the slow side in the heats and semi-finals of the 25m freestyle, however Joanne Ross had a good swim in the final, being just 0.80 seconds off her time to take the win from birthday boy Greg Jankowski (1.21).
Ian Henderson came in third place followed in by Garry Giddings and Judy Walsh.
There were two breakers in the heats of the backstroke/breaststroke brace relay. The disqualification of Ron Everett and Ian Henderson and Nicole Johnstone left the remainder of the flock to contest the final. This resulted in a very tight finish with Gary Giddings and Marg Ross being the popular winners from Judy Walsh and David Sparkes, and Reg Ferguson and Joanne Ross.
Reg backed up well and had a very good swim in the unorthodox 75m freestyle closest to time event. He touched the wall a close 0.96 seconds off his time and was awarded the win from Greg Jankowski (3.67) and Judy Walsh (4.20).
Lucky numbers went to two dry ducks, Peter Smith and John McLean, which goes to show you don't have to get your feathers wet to collect a prize.
The July monthly points score was won by Ron Everett on 39 points, Reg Ferguson second on 36 points, and Greg Jankowski and Judy Walsh tying for third place on 35 points.
