Max, who at nine months of age contracted bacterial meningitis, has fought courageously against the infection and its after effects for more than a year, and is firmly in place as one of the most inspirational people in Dubbo.
Music for Max organiser Ann Lyons, who is well-known in Dubbo for her community work and will host the event on her property, does not think there is a better cause or better value for money than this.
"We have the cream of the crop of Dubbo musicians playing all on the same stage," she said.
"Every single cent that is raised will be donated to Max, which is great.
"I am confident the event will be sold out which is fantastic, so if you are keen to attend and support this great cause make sure you get in quick and get your ticket.
Ms Lyons, who is a family friend of the McIntyres and tries to host one or two charity events every year, said it had been very easy to get help for getting this project off the ground, such is the support for Max and his family.
"This will be the biggest event I have done if it sells out and that is what we want," she said.
"It has been very easy to get people on board, all the musicians have been great.
"Obviously the sponsors need mentioning and the local community have been great.
"I mostly start with friends and clients at the salon, and my son Luke and his wife Emma have done a lot of the work as well."
The musicians who are confirmed to perform are At The Bar, Legless Pedestrians, Dave Daly and Lizzie Sutton, Mick Picton, Paul "Irish" McMillian and Lisa Clarke, Pete Riley and Brett Graham.
In addition to the music, there will be 20-plus food and market stalls which will cater for anything you need, but it is asked people bring their own camp chair.
The Music for Max event will be held on Sunday, September 27, from 11am to 6pm with gates opening at 10am.
