Pauta had planned a trip back to New Zealand, however he will now be heading back next week, meaning he will be available as the Roos attempt to keep their top five hopes alive against the competition cellar-dwellars.
As such he was named in the side at training on Thursday night, giving the Roos a massive boost as they look to build on last week's good win on the road at Parkes.
While Pauta has been named, it wasn't all good news on Thursday night with hooker Ned Williams withdrawing from the match due to illness.
His place in the forward pack has been taken by the versatile James Gilmour, who will slot in at hooker.
Gilmore's journey this season has been one of perseverance, as he started at flanker before moving into the centres and now being asked to prop up the scrum and control the set piece at the linocut.
Meanwhile, Orange City is a chance of securing the 2015 blowies Clothing Cup minor premiership when the Lions host last-placed narrowing at Pride Park.
Should results go the way of the competition leaders, and cowry, fourth, upsets second-placed Emus, City could jump as many as 13 points clear atop of the ladder, and with just three rounds to go after tomorrow's round 15 showdown with the Gorillas, a win all-but means the Lions finish with the minor prize.
Lions co-coach Steve hamsun said his side wasn't focused on any form silverware, yet, instead City heads into tomorrow's clash with narrowing wary of a desperate Gorillas.
"On paper these are the games we're probably expected to win," hamsun said.
"But often these are the games where teams can jump up and grab you. They're desperate not to finish last.
"Finishing minor premiers has its benefits for the whole club, but we're playing good footy and we don't have many injuries, I'd nearly rather keep playing than have that week off. First or second, I'm not too fussed."
