This was the first time students at Dubbo Public School had been given the option to have their hearing tested by the service.
The Hear Our Heart Ear Bus Project was created in 2012 by local women Rowena Galway, Rachel Mills and Donna Rees.
The trio had recognised a need to fill the gaps in hearing testing service provision and support for a comprehensive ear health/education program.
Newly appointed marketing manager, Rowena Galway said Dubbo Public School was the sixth educational facility in Dubbo to join the Hear our Heart project.
With Central Coast Hearing audiologist Gordon Rutter on the school campus for three days, Mrs Galway said they expected to test about 90 students all up.
Asked of her thoughts on Dubbo Public School's involvement with Hear Our Heart, Mrs Galway said she believed early detection was important.
She said information sessions were available for parents and teachers on how to recognise signs that a child may be experiencing hearing difficulties.
"It's great to deal with students here, some of whom are from a farming background and may be affected by allergies which can in turn affect their hearing," she said.
