ORANGE City is a chance of securing the 2015 Blowes Clothing Cup minor premiership when the Lions host last-placed Narromine tomorrow at Pride Park.
Should results go the way of the competition leaders, and Cowra, fourth, upsets second-placed Emus, City could jump as many as 13 points clear atop of the ladder, and with just three rounds to go after tomorrow’s round 15 showdown with the Gorillas, a win will all but mean the Lions finish with the minor prize.
Lions co-coach Steve Hamson said his side wasn’t focused on any form silverware, yet, instead City heads into tomorrow’s clash with Narromine wary of a desperate Gorillas.
“On paper these are the games we’re probably expected to win,” Hamson said.
“But often these are the games where teams can jump up and grab you. They’re desperate not to finish last.
“Finishing minor premiers has its benefits for the whole club, but we’re playing good footy and we don’t have many injuries, I’d nearly rather keep playing than have that week off.
“First or second, I’m not too fussed.”

The last time City met Narromine, the Lions won 26-nil in a convincing, shut-out victory.
Hamson believes with his side coming off a big 36-17 win over Mudgee and with some big games looming - the Lions play the ninth-placed CSU Bathurst next week before tough games against the top-three bound Bulldogs and then a top-of-the-table, local derby with Emus - Orange City was determined to maintain the rage.
“We’re never short of motivation. There’s a lot of pride in our performance,” he said.
“Narromine will get the same respect Mudgee got last week, and the same respect the Chooks’ will get in a couple of weeks.”
After missing the Mudgee clash through illness, Tatau Na’aniumotu is back at No.8 for the Lions.
Kick-off is at 3.15pm at Pride Park.
