The annual multi-sports event is one of the highlights of the school sporting year and the action this year began on Monday afternoon before more events on Thursday.
"It's a positive achievement for the school in terms of sport but we're still looking forward to the last two sports," St John's sports co-ordinator Dave McAlister said.
On Monday, St John's opened their campaign with dominant wins in both the boys' and girls' tennis.
The boys' team won 5-1 while the girls were even more impressive and ran out 6-0 winners.
This was followed by wins in the basketball (37-32) and boys' soccer (5-0) before Dubbo College got on the board with a win in the girls' volleyball.
"The boys' soccer was very impressive playing with 10 players for the majority of the match," McAlister said.
"They're really strong and have got a game coming up soon against Marion College from Griffith and that will be a stepping stone towards the Combined Catholic Colleges (CCC) state finals so they're looking really good.
"Tennis had big wins and they've been playing at a state competition recently in the CCC teams event while their volleyball team was stronger and more well drilled."
On Thursday afternoon Dubbo College was again victorious when they took out an outstanding touch football match 11-10
The netball was another high-quality event and the two sides could not be separated as it finished 31-all.
Even if Dubbo College win the final two events this coming week, the rugby league and girls' soccer, it would finish at four-and-a-half sports each and St John's would retain the Cup after winning last year.
"The touch was very close and the coach said it was probably the best team we've ever had but it was probably the best team the College has ever had too," McAlister said of Thursday's matches.
"And the netball was tight too and there was a big crowd there."
An under-15s netball match was played on Thursday, also finishing in a draw, but that match does not count towards the competition points.
There will also be an under-15s rugby league match next week but those matches are played just to give some of the younger students a taste of the competition and prepare them for their senior years when they will take part in the long-running contest.
The girls' netball and rugby league fixtures will both be played on Thursday afternoon.
