The Indian film, Premam, will kick off at 5.30pm in one of the five cinemas available at the complex.

Bringing Premam to Dubbo was not an easy feat for residents Jose Sunny, Albin Alias and Jersoe Joseph.

The three men said they had been passionate about films for many years.

"We decided we wanted to bring a bit of our culture to Dubbo," Mr Sunny said.

The trio chose to contact the distributor of Premam, which was a newly released film from the Indian subcontinent.

Mr Alias said after purchasing the rights to screen the film, there would only be one official screening.

He described Premam as coming-of-age film which all viewers would be "able to relate to".

The plot follows a young male protagonist through his journey of school and university in the 1990s.

"There's something that will reach out to everyone," Mr Sunny said.

The trio hope this will be the starting point of many foreign film screenings in Dubbo.

Mr Joseph said they had received an enormous response for ticket inquiries from Facebook and the general word-of-mouth.

"It's high time we started bringing foreign films to Dubbo, it's such a multicultural city and would be a shame to waste that," Mr Sunny said.

"There has been nothing in this for us, this is all out of our passion for the cinema."

While Premam was filmed with the actors speaking Indian, the trio assured there would be subtitles available for the viewers.
