Sub-zero temperatures were the norm for western NSW centres waking up on Monday morning, with minimum temperatures of -5 degrees in Coonabarabran, -4 at Dubbo airport, -3 in Dunedoo, -2.5 in Trangie and -1 in Peak Hill recorded in the 24 hours to 9am, according to Weatherzone.
A foggy morning then a sunny day was forecast for Dubbo on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to be between 1 and 15 degrees.
The forecast for Wednesday was mostly sunny with temperatures ranging from 2-16 degrees, warming up on Thursday with a late shower and temperatures of between 3-17 degrees.
More showers were forecast for Friday, with temperatures between 6-15 degrees on the way.
The rain was expected to continue at the weekend.
Meanwhile getting out of bed was no easy ask for Sydneysiders over the past five mornings as the Harbour City shivered through its coldest stretch since 2010.
The mercury dropped to seven degrees or below for the fifth morning in a row on Monday, according to Weatherzone, the city’s coldest stretch since late June/early July 2010.
