The community is set to welcome NBN contractors to town in the second half of next year, with 400 homes and businesses now scheduled to receive fixed line broadband, which delivers speeds of up to 100 megabits per second.
Earlier this year, an NBN Co spokesperson told the Daily Liberal it would take, on average, 12 months from the start of construction for the network to go live.
Several other central west communities have also been added, with 500 Trangie premises set to be covered, 1800 in Parkes and a total of 1200 in Rylstone and Kandos.
A total of 200,000 Australian homes and businesses have been added to the NBN rollout schedule in the July quarterly update, including 53,000 in NSW.
NBN spokesperson Kelly Stevens said the construction phase would begin in those areas within the next 18 months.
"Our job is to help bridge the digital divide by ensuring that all Australians can have access to fast broadband as soon as cost-effectively possible."
"This is exciting news for the suburbs and towns added to our construction schedule because work to deliver fast broadband is expected to be under way by December 2016."
