► Saturday, July 4 - The 117th anniversary of the Philippines’ Independence Day and 18th anniversary of Orana Region Filipino Australian Association Inc will be celebrated from 6pm on Saturday, July 4, at the Dubbo Showground expo centre. The theme is Triumphs through reforms within Nation's reach. Guest speaker will be Consul-general Anne Jalando-On Louis. Tickets: $30 adult, $12 child under 12, under 5 free. Donations for raffles are more than welcome. Lots of entertainment, including karaoke, dance performances, raffles, and games. Bring you own drinks. Tickets available. ► Saturday, July 4 - Talbragar CWA will be holding their monthly meeting at the CWA Rooms, Boothenba Road, on Saturday, July 4, at 2pm. Members are reminded that the final arrangements will be made for catering for the Macquarie Group meeting on Monday, August 3. New members are most welcome. ► Thursday, July 2 to Sunday, July 5 - Damian Syred Presents Circus Royale at the Dubbo Showground. Come one come all to Circus Royale under the colourful big top. Be prepared to be dazzled by aerial acts, contortion, clowns, juggling, cows, camels, dancing horses and football playing dogs to name a few. The show begins at 11am and 2pm each day.
► Friday, July 3 - Stars of Dubbo “Dance for Cancer” at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre at 6pm. The Stars of Dubbo is a fundraiser gala based on the popular television series, Dancing with the Stars. Thirteen brave faces in the community are putting their best dancing foot forward to dance their hearts out for a good cause.
► Saturday, July 4 - Dubbo Farmers Markets at Macquarie Lions Park from 8am to 12pm. Come along for a showcase of the region’s produce, fresh from the soils and water basins of the Macquarie Valley and beyond. The wet weather venue for the Farmers Markets is the RSL Club Resort Carpark
► Saturday, July 4 - The Symphony of Australia at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre at 7:30pm. This wonderful piece of music takes the audience on a musical journey through Australia’s history, from the rich cultural expressions of the Aboriginal pre-colonial era, to the challenges of early settlement years, and onward through the many significant social and cultural changes of the years. Tickets are $55 for adults,$45 for concession, $30 for students and $40 for a group of eight people or more.
► Saturday, July 4 - IWA Pro Wrestling at the Dubbo RSL Club Resort at 8pm. International Wrestling Australia (IWA) is dishing out more fun, more action and more excitement than ever been seen in the Australian pro-wrestling circuit. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for adults and $25 for VIP seating.
► Saturday, July 4 - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Themed Movie Night at the Old Dubbo Gaol from 6:30pm. Indulge your sweet tooth with sweets, lollies and candy floss all available on the night. Willy Wonka will be there to greet you and you may even see an Oompa Loompa or two!
► Sunday, July 5 - The Dubbo Film Society 2015 Film Festival at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre from 9:30am. The Dubbo Film Society Committee is proud to present a program of well reviewed films for this festival starting with Still Alice, followed by Charlie’s Country, Finding Vivian Maier, Two Days and One Night, and Mr Turner. ► Tuesday, July 7 - Be Your Self by the Australian Dance Theatre at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre at 7:30pm.
► Tuesday, July 7 - The Dubbo RSL Memorial Club’s next show and luncheon will be held on Tuesday, July 7. Entertainment for the day will be Pommie Night Out. The show features lots of old favourite sing-a-long songs, British humour and costume changes. It is a pleasure to provide our morning entertainment for the senior members of our community. Doors will open as usual at 9.30am with morning tea served on arrival and a delicious Lunch served at noon. Cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members
► Wednesday, July 8 - The next meeting for the Dubbo Stroke Support Group will be held on Wednesday, July 8. The meeting will be in the David Palmer Centre at Old Lourdes Hospital, Cobbora Road, Dubbo from 10am to noon. People affected by stroke, their family, carers and friends are welcome to attend and share experiences, support, information, friendship and social outings. The guest speaker will be from the Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre. Visitors and new members are always welcome. For more information please call Victor Brook on 6885 4800.
