The ComicsCRAFT will be held at Dubbo and Narromine branch libraries on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11.
The Narromine workshop will be held on the Friday at the library and will include a step-by-step how-to class, in which those aged between 10 and 16 will learn how to draw manga monsters.
The workshops are funded by a Community Arts Support Programs grant through Regional Arts NSW, Arts NSW and Orana Arts.
The Dubbo workshops will also begin on Friday at 10.30am, as beginners aged between 13 to 18 years will learn how artist Marcelo Baez uses everyday poses to create interesting characters.
Later that night a free workshop will be held from 5.30pm to 6.30pm as presenter Julie Ditritch discusses everything comics, in the Introduction to visual storytelling workshop.
There are four classes on Saturday, starting from 10.30am, in which children aged between 8 and 12 will have the chance to create a one-page manga comic.
At the same time, Ms Ditrich will be hosting a workshop on how to create the perfect outfit. Mr Baez and illustrator Matthew Lin will be presenting an artist talk at 12.30pm.
They will then go headto-head in a drawing battle to the delight of audiences.
The final workshop will be held at 1.30pm to hear Ms Ditrich illustrate how those with a keen interest in the comics industry can kick-start their career, in the Comics breakout session.
Workshops cost $8 to attend, but the introduction workshop, artist talk and comic breakout session are free.
MRL director John Bayliss said bookings to attend the workshops must be made in advance, and people were welcome to come down to the library to book in, or they could jump on the MRL website and book online.
