Not-for-profit in-home care services operator integratedliving Australia Ltd will host forum to explain how to access help through the Commonwealth government's new system, My Aged Care.
"Our aim in creating these information sessions is to help people navigate the changes and understand the new system, My Aged Care, to ensure they understand the new programs, the pathways to access the aged care system, and can make more informed decisions regarding their care options," integratedliving chief Catherine Daley said.
"The changes to the system are based on a desire by government to see more people maintain an independent lifestyle for longer.
"Currently there are 1 million people in aged care and this is predicted to treble by 2020 so this new system is all about improving a person's access to the range of support facilities available to manage staying at home longer.
"It also gives the consumer power to design the care plan they need and want using local companies and suppliers they know and trust."
The information session will be held from 10am to midday at Sporties Dubbo in Erskine Street and people wishing to attend should call 1300 782 896.
