The closing date had been Tuesday but the chamber announced on Wednesday it had been extended by a week to Tuesday, July 7, with chamber president Matt Wright saying they wanted as many nominations as possible.
"We've had a huge amount of interest in nominations so far, and with a day to go, the nominations aren't slowing up," he said.
" To make sure we capture every possible nomination in our 20th year, we've decided to extend nominations until July 7, when we'll also be holding an information session on how and why to apply.
"At this time the entries will open."
"We know some businesses can be modest, and might not apply directly.
"We've also been contacted by stacks of people wanting to know how to nominate their favourite businesses, so we wanted to make it easier for them to do that.
"You will be able drop your nominations into boxes at Dubbo Square, Myer, Orana Mutual, Orana Mall and the RSL."
The people's choice awards remain open until Friday July 31, so the chamber also encouraged Dubbo businesses to keep some nomination forms handy.
"You never know, a happy customer might just take the opportunity to nominate you for Service with a Smile, Dubbo's Favourite Tradie or, of course, the People's Choice Award for Dubbo's favourite business," Mr Wright said.
"The information night will be held at the RSL at 5.30pm on Tuesday July 7 to answer any questions people have about how and why to apply.
"It's a free event, so I would strongly everyone in the Dubbo business community to attend, meet some new people, and learn more about the 20th year of the Rhinos."
