As preparations ramp up with just under three weeks till the fifth stage of the Evocities series, which is sponsored by Fairfax Media, publishers of the Daily Liberal, and hosted by Dubbo, president of the Dubbo Mountain Bike Club Craig Arms said the rain has had a positive impact on the course and hasn't hindered any of the preparations.
"The rain has been beneficial as it has helped pack the course down," he said.
"For it to impact on us it would have to rain in the week leading up to it (event) and even then it would have to be pretty substantial.
"But we have a plan in place and if required we can change sections of the course."
While competitors will be in for some pain on the day, several features have been included in the track such as rock gardens, steep gullies and drop offs, to make the course more enjoyable.
At 16 kilometres, the course near Geurie is the longest of any in the Evocities MTB series.
There is also 400 metres of climbing involved for riders, which is also the most of any course in the series.
With this in mind, Mr Arms has encouraged riders to ensure they get the necessary training in to ensure they are at their peak condition come race time.
"None of the climbs are overly long but there are more of them," he said.
"The course is tough and will take a toll on people so now is the time for them to be on the bike and getting the kilometres in.
"We have built the track tightly and that was done on purpose to discourage motorbike riders from the course, but we have also maintained flow.
"The course has something for everyone so it should be a fantastic event."
