The Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre will be transformed into a dancing arena on Friday, July 3 from 6pm.
The dancing stars include Julie Cross, John Korff, Megan Casserly, Peter Brown, Susan Cornish, Tina Reynolds, Tom Cavanagh, Chris Sewell, Juelz Jarry, Josh Large, Bart Shanks, Laagan Whalan and Heidi Nichols.
Committee member Jason Dearmer said the local dancers had been teamed with a professionals from Stepping Out Dance Factory, The Shimmering Gems Belly Dancing Troupe, Zumba with Tracy, Fantasy Dubbo Dancesport and Orana Dance Centre to learn the tricks of the trade.
Mr Dearmer said each dancer was given the target to raise $2500 to be donated directly to Cancer Council NSW. "Some of our dancers have already smashed that from online donations and a pop-up restaurant at Church Street Cafe earlier in the month," Mr Dearmer said.
While the aim of the night was to have fun and entertain, Mr Dearmer said there would be a crowned winner decided by judges, Dubbo Mayor Mathew Dickerson, Justine Blacklock and Peter Scott.
"The audience is in for a lot of variety, from ballet and jazz, to belly dancing and ballroom," he said. "The judges will be looking at technique, crowd interaction and the individual's grasp on the dance style," Mr Dearmer said.
Mr Dearmer said the committee was encouraging the community to donate to the dancer of their choice online.
