Dubbo Chamber of Commerce executive officer Toni Beatty said this year there would be an award for community service.
"There are lots of people who do great things in the community for the community," Ms Beatty said.
"They don't even have to be a non-for-profit organisation."
Ms Beatty said groups such as Langley's Coaches, who drive the elderly around, Meals on Wheels or the Pink Angels could all be nominated for the new award.
"Apparently we used to have it years ago but it dropped off," she said.
The announcement about the new award was made at Thursday night's award launch, where the new logo and this year's theme were also announced.
Ms Beatty said there were about 50 people who attended, including sponsors, dignitaries such as the mayor, and the chamber members.
Orana Mutal are the gold sponsors of the event but Ms Beatty said there were still award categories where sponsorship was available.
