The opening nine rounds of the 2015 competition have flown by and they've thrown up some thrilling matches, some shocks and some brilliant performances.
With nine games down and nine remaining until the finals, now is the perfect time to have a look at each team and take stock of what has happened up to this point.
Lets look at how each team has travelled so far and predict what the rest of 2015 holds.
1. PARKES SPACEMEN (17 points)
There was much speculation made over the off season as to how Parkes would perform after premiership winning captain-coach Pat Rosser departed for the north coast.
But in the first half of the season new mentor Dennis Moran and his side has shown they've lost none of their potency, with eight wins and a draw recorded so far.
Their attack has been nothing short of scintillating with their total of 386 points scored 70 more than any other team.
Moran, now in the twilight of his career, has wound back the clock and led the charge to the top of the ladder with 136 points of his own so far while in Sam Dwyer, Alex Prout, Tino Ionatana and wrecking ball Brendan Tago they have a number of match-winners.
Parkes are sitting pretty at the top and have cruised through the opening half of the season. Their 76-16 and 92-4 wins over Cobar and Narromine respectively are as good as any performances this season and despite Forbes testing them last week, Dubbo CYMS appear to be the only team capable of matching it with Parkes.
Parkes and CYMS have fought out the past two deciders and everything is pointing to a hat-trick of grand final clashes occurring again this season.
2. DUBBO CYMS (17 points)
Undefeated in 2015 and joint-leaders of the competition, everything is in place for CYMS to make another premiership run.
The defending premiers have gone about their business with minimal fuss in 2015 and are the most consistent team in the competition.
Opposing teams know exactly what they're going to get with the Fishies. A team which plays exactly the same from the first whistle to the last. They're fit, fast and when they're on they're unstoppable.
Their backline featuring Western representatives Kieran Shipp, Jyie Chapman and John Grey is as good as any and while they're forward pack is in no way huge, it's incredibly mobile with everyone up front capable of offloads.
Considering experienced playmaker Luke Jenkins is yet to have an extended run of matches, it appears the Fishies are only going to get better. Only Parkes stand in their way of a second consecutive title.
3. FORBES MAGPIES (14 points)
A big recruitment drive over the off-season has worked wonders for Forbes and even Tim Holman and KJ Wood walking out on the club hasn't disrupted their form.
The Magpies have been the feelgood side of 2015 and with the form forward pack in the competition leading the way, they've defeated everyone except the top two.
Captain-coach Zac Merritt and his men have scored 40 or more points on five occasions already this season while their 44-6 win over Macquarie recently proved they can muscle up in defence as well.
A lack of a true class half could hurt their chances in the really big games but that hasn't really caused too much trouble yet with centre Joel Davie being found for 11 tries this season, the third most in the competition.
A finals spot is a certainty and if they produce their best performances comes finals time, and get a little bit of luck, there's no reason why 2015 can't be the year of the Magpie.
4. WELLINGTON COWBOYS (11 points)
The Wellington Cowboys can be summed up in three simple letters. JTW.
Justin Toomey-White has again been phenomenal for the Cowboys and while it may seem harsh to label them as a one-man team, there is no player in the competition more important to his side's fortunes.
The powerful second-rower currently leads the try scoring charts with 13 tries from just seven matches and has been a standout in every game he's played from Group 11 to Western Rams level. When the Cowboys are on they're one of the most entertaining teams in the competition but lapses in defence have continually cost them so far this season.
High-scoring losses, namely 46-44 to CYMS and 40-34 to Forbes, prove the Cowboys have been close but just not close enough up to this point.
They should be confident of making the finals but consistency has always been an issue for Wellington teams.
The battle is on for the last two finals spots but Toomey-White and his teammates will be confident of being there again come finals time.
5. NYNGAN TIGERS (9 points)
The Tigers have been one of the hardest teams to pick in 2015. A hugely successful 2014 campaign saw them finish fourth and this season they've shown glimpses of that form.
Losing captain-coach Byron Warren for an extended period through injury hasn't helped but with his return approaching, the Tigers will fancy their chances of hanging on to a top five spot.
There have been matches the Tigers will feel they should have won this season. The 36-34 loss to Wellington and six-point defeat at the hand of Forbes were matches which could have gone either way while the recent 22-all draw with Westside will feel like a loss for Warren and his men.
Fourth and fifth spot this season are up for grabs and after gaining finals experience last year and classy halves Jacob Neill and Ryan Rogers guiding the team around, Nyngan should be there again this time round.
6. DUBBO WESTSIDE (9 points)
Another team which recruited heavily over the off-season and another team which has been hot and cold so far in 2015.
While they currently sit outside a finals place, this season has already been a success for the Rabbitohs in terms of results and also the style they play. While they are still susceptible to getting hot under the collar and giving away penalties, gone are the days of last season where multiple players would end up in the sin bin and every decision from the referee was met with an argument.
New coach Robbie Dunn has helped the Rabbitohs mature and former Macquarie five-eighth Josh Merritt has been a revelation when he's been on the field and not serving suspension.
You can't help but feel the biggest opposition for the Rabbitohs this season is going to be themselves. If they keep their composure and keep their best players on the paddock then there's no reason why they can't make the finals.
The fact they've drawn three matches already this season borders on unbelievable and those results, especially the 38-all draw with Narromine, may come back to haunt them.
A much better team this season but do they have enough to get ahead of Nyngan and Wellington?
7. DUBBO MACQUARIE (6 points)
Macquarie's season so far has been nothing short of a disaster.
Injuries, off-field controversy and suspension has caused all kinds of headaches for new coach Guy Meredith and last week's win over Narromine was their first victory since mid-April.
But despite all their problems they only sit three points behind fifth spot.
Last week's win, although it was over lowly Narromine, could serve as a turning point with players returning from injury and suspension and new signings Anthony Toomey and Kurt Beahan debuting.
Losing star player Jeremy Smith for the season was a massive blow but if the worst of the injury crisis is over then the Raiders can still have an impact on the 2015 season.
Judging by their performances so far this season the finals look out of reach but the men in blue will definitely cause some headaches for the rest of the competition this season.
8. COBAR ROOSTERS (4 points)
There were plenty of whispers in the lead up to the season that the Roosters had recruited well and were one to watch.
But nine rounds in they have only recorded one win and have been on the receiving end of some crushing losses.
The same old issues have dogged Cobar this year as they continue to battle player unavailability due to so many of them working in the mines.
Even the dreaded trip to Cobar hasn't seemed as daunting for opposing teams in 2015 with Nyngan, Macquarie, Forbes and CYMS all recording wins at Tom Knight Oval.
This will be another season without finals football for the Roosters and work needs to be done in order for them to become a seriously competitive outfit again.
9. NARROMINE JETS (3 points)
Nine rounds in and not one win.
It has been more than a decade since a team went through a Group 11 season without a victory and the Narromine Jets will need to improve in the second half of this season if they are to keep that run going.
A 38-all draw with Westside proved they have plenty of fight in the squad but since then they have also slumped to heavy losses against CYMS, Nyngan, Forbes and Parkes.
They have conceded 92 points more than any other side this season and have been hit hard by injuries with Luke Harding hardly figuring at all so far.
Finals are no chance and their June 28 match at home against Cobar is shaping as a match which will decide where the wooden spoon resides for the next 12 months.
