Dene Broadbelt, who has also gone by the names of Dene Mussillon and Harrison O'Connor, was an announcer at Dubbo's ZOO FM before gaining notoriety in the region as the driving force behind the failed Infinity Music Festival.
The roadshow, which would be titled One Day With Dene, would lay bare his "mistakes, truths, regrets and new triumphs", according to Mr Broadbelt.
Earlier this year, an email purporting to be from an associate of his that claimed Mr Broadbelt had committed suicide appeared on a national radio industry website.
After that, Broadbelt spoke out about what he says was a vicious social media campaign that has made it impossible for him to hold down a job or pay back thousands of dollars he owed people and organisations around Australia.
"My only option was to declare bankrupt so I did this in October 2014," he said.
"I should have done it earlier. It was a mistake I regret my debts totalled around $250,000. I only admit to running up around $100,000 of this as there is a default on my credit file for a home loan which I never applied for so this has a big impact on this amount."
Mr Broadbelt said he continued to take daily medication for depression, was unemployed and had no friends.
Part of the story he wanted to share included his father walking out on the family when Dene was eight, his early exposure to drug paraphernalia, schoolyard bullying, receiving death threats and being "run out of three towns in the past three years".
Mr Broadbelt said he planned to release a book about his experiences next year.
"If I can help other people like me to reach out for help that's a good thing," he said.
"My message to all the teenagers out there, bullies have no place in this world and they should be arrested for half of the stuff they do."
