While the A-grade mens doubles will round things out this Saturday, all B-grade competitions were contested and Phillip Wheeler went within an inch of claiming a rare trifecta of titles.
Wheeler beat Brad Tanswell 7/6 7/5 in a thrilling final of the B-grade mens singles championships before backing up a day later and teaming with Victoria Bartley to win the mixed doubles title.
In between, he had to be content with a runner-up finish in the doubles as he and partner Frank Roberts finished behind Sean Basile and Daniel Allen in the round-robin event.
In the B-grade ladies events, Kaila Ashford was crowned as singles champion when she beat Rebecca West 6/1 6/4 before the pair teamed up to take the doubles over Mandy Wells and Karen Armstrong in a match that required a tie-breaker in the final set.
A good number of players competed in the A-grade mens singles competition and ultimately it came down to defending champion Brad Williams and Luke McConochie to face off in the final.
McConochie started strongly and won the opening set 6/2 but Williams hit back to drop just five more games as he won 2/6 6/3 6/2.
Unfortunately there was no play in the A-grade ladies singles, ladies doubles or mixed doubles, with the club looking at ways to get these events back for next year's titles.
