Alicia Howarth, 28, of Dalton Street, Orange, has also been fined for driving offences after being caught driving disqualified for the second time.
Howarth’s string of offences began in February last year when she was living in Dubbo and she was twice caught driving a vehicle while disqualified.
A few weeks later in April Howarth stole items from Target in Dubbo.
After moving to Orange she was charged with shoplifting again. This time she stole a container of Vanish laundry powder valued at $12.95.
In January this year Howarth went into a retail store in Summer Street and, undetected, walked out without paying for a Uniden wireless surveillance system. Once again she was charged with shoplifting.
In her absence on Monday Howarth was fined varying amounts from $500 to $1000 for some of the shoplifting offences and the disqualified driving charges.
Solicitor Michael Madden thanked police prosecutor Sergeant Beau Riley for helping him clarify the large number of charges faced by his client.
“The only thing stopping this going ahead now is a client - I don’t have one,” Mr Madden said.
The court officer went outside the room and called Howarth’s name three times, in keeping with court tradition, but she did not come forward.
The magistrate, Terry Lucas, said he had a solution to moving the case forward.
“It’s called “warrant to issue”,” he said ordering a warrant for Howarth’s arrest.
Mr Madden was granted permission by the court to withdraw from representing Howarth as she hadn’t shown up to court.
She was to face court to answer the two charges of driving while disqualified, resisting police, drug possession, failure to appear while on bail and five counts of shoplifting.
Mr Lucas convicted her of several of the offences with the remainder to return to court.
