WHILE the 2015 Orana Mutual Dubbo Show may be over for another year, the Dubbo Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) is still buzzing from the three-day event.

Showgoers may have noticed a hoard of youngsters and their parents in high-visibility vests, picking up the discarded dagwood dog wrappers and other rubbish items.
Dubbo PCYC club manager, Mark Nuttall, said this was the fifth year the Dubbo PCYC gymnastics participants had been enlisted as the official clean up committee for the Orana Mutual Dubbo Show.
In return for their continuous cleaning efforts, the Show Society rewards the club with $5000 each year which is used for new gymnastics equipment and
“What started off as lending a helping hand, has now turned into one of our main fundraisers for the year,” Mr Nuttall said.
The attitude of the young volunteers and their families did not go unnoticed, Mr Nuttall said.
“A director of Astley’s Plumbing and Hardware was so impressed one year, he donated $5000 directly to the PCYC.”
“We just want to say thank you to all of our volunteers for making this a continuous fundraising opportunity for the club,” he said.
Mr Nuttall said Robertson’s Motorcycles and Tracserv had also been on board with the idea, lending a motor buggy to the club to assist with their cleaning efforts.
