After trailing 8-6 in the early stages, the Fishies piled on 28 unanswered points to ensure they head into their bye week with six wins and a draw from their opening seven matches.

Colby Pellow starred for CYMS with four tries, while coach Tim Ryan was also full of praise for prop Jarryn Powyer, Tony Pellow and back-rower Ben Marlin.

"Like most weeks with us there were no real standouts, just everyone got in and did their job," Ryan said.

"Colby scored four tries which was obviously very impressive, but Jarryn got players player, Tony was really good in the halves again and 'Marlo' really stepped up against a fairly physical side.

"The first 20 minutes we were pretty ordinary, I think we only completed two of our first five or six sets with the ball, but once we got into a groove we really played some good football.

"We had three guys out today through work and injury, and it let us give young Ben Conroy from the under-18s a chance in first grade and he did a really good job."

CYMS will have the bye this weekend, with Ryan admitting the week off has come at the right time for his squad.

"People ask all the time whether the bye is a good thing or not, but I think in this case for us it is," he said.

"We've got four guys playing for Western Division this week, so we don't have to worry about needing them to back up for two games in two days.

"There's also some guys with little niggles that get a chance to give them a rest, and a guy like Billy Sing gets an extra week as he tries to get over some ligament damage in his hand."
