In a gala dinner held on Friday at Bathurst, Regand Park Early Childhood Education Centre, EMS Group, Abraham Damen from Kitchen and Renovation Concepts and Michael Adams from Golden West Holden all came home award winners.
Regand Park Early Childhood Education Centre was one of two winners of the Excellence in Innovation award, and was recognised for introducing two new programs into their curriculum, Yoga for Kids and a Safe Respectful Learners Program. They also created two new roles, creative and community educator and environmental educator.
EMS Group, a privately-owned business specialising in workshop repairs, machinery and labour hire to the mining and construction industries, took out the Employer of Choice award.
EMS Group representative Tom Cavanagh believes the award is just recognition for all staff.
"It recognises the effort and commitment we put into focusing on our staff and rewarding their efforts," Mr Cavanagh said.
Abraham Damen, who established Kitchen and Renovation Concepts four years ago, was the recipient of the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award while Michael Adams was awarded the Business Leader of the Year for his work as owner of Golden West Holden and work with other organisations.
Mr Adams was unable to receive his award in person because of prior commitments.
Winners from each category in the Central West Orana Business Awards will now proceed as finalists to the NSW Business Chamber State Awards, to be announced at the State Gala Dinner on Friday, November 27, in Sydney.
