Despite the final being drawn, Group 11 were awarded the win as first try-scorers.
Western coach Cameron Greenhalgh now possesses a side stacked with individual talent, with the likes of Group 11's Harry Van Dartel, Kotoni Staggs, Pat Murphy and Billy Burns all standouts on Saturday while Deryne McKenzie, Daniel Jeffries and Jack Bastick were some of Group 10's best.
Dubbo's Van Dartel was joined by fellow local Macquarie junior Phillip Combridge in the Western team, as two of 10 Group 11 players to be selected.
Eight Group 10 players made the team and Group 10 coach Nick Lander admitted the future of footy in the Western region looked bright.
"When you look at it there's a lot of talent and these boys can become really good first graders while some have the potential to go on and play in Sydney if they put their mind to it," he said.
The two sides went into Saturday's final after strong opening wins, Group 11 42-6 over the President's 13 and Group 10 won 34-6 over the Castlereagh League side.
Both sides cancelled each other out early as they took their time to get into the decider.
Approaching half-time Group 11 finally broke through with a slick backline move resulting in Parkes winger Jesse Parker crossing but it was all square again almost immediately as a Jeffries try was converted by Josh Rivett.
The second half saw a lift in intensity as both sides improved their game but there were no points until Staggs sliced through to plant the ball down. He missed the conversion and Group 11 looked set to hold on for victory until the final five minutes when Jye Barrow got across the line for Group 10.
The conversion was waved away and despite both sides almost impossible to separate, Group 11 were named winners.
"They're two very good sides and that showed on the scoreboard, I think we were unlucky but that's footy," Group 11 coach Tony Woolnough said after the match.
Lander was also disappointed but with both sides playing quality football he said it was hard to argue with the scoreline. "I'm a bit disappointed but it was a good game and we needed to capitalise but I think an exceptional Western Rams side will come out of this so best of luck to all of those selected."
