My Kitchen Rules stars Jac and Shaz are set to join other Mount Isa legends on the billboard near the city’s airport.
Jac and Shaz have helped promote Mount Isa in a positive light, becoming icons and ambassadors for the city.
They said they were honoured to be included on the billboard.
“We have brought so much attention to Mount Isa over the last four months,” they said
“I think every episode about 1.5 million people see the show and now know about Mount Isa.”
The current sign will not be replaced, rather there will be an extra piece added on top of the sign with a banner at the bottom.
The sign is aimed at raising awareness for those who have done the city proud over the years and showed the community was proud of their achievements.
Mount Isa Mayor Tony McGrady said there had been negotiations in recent weeks to add Jac and Shaz onto the current ‘‘Welcome to Mount Isa Birth Place of Champions’’ sign that can be seen driving into Mount Isa from Camooweal.
“You have made every one of us proud, not only of your enormous achievements but the way you both presented yourselves to the nation as two very homely ladies with enormous ability,” he said.
