Overall, 458 new residents enquiries were made through Evocities in 2014-15.
Dubbo City Council manager city development and communications Natasha Comber said the majority- 70 per cent- of the people who relocated were from Sydney.
Research found 81 per cent said they needed employment secured prior to or shortly after arriving, while three-quarters said they would recommend moving to an Evocity to their family or friends.
Councillor John Walkom said the proof of the success of the city development program was in the statistics.
“This reinforces that the marketing through Evocities is working,” he said.
Cr Walkom said the range of marketing campaigns, event support and city development activities worked together to present Dubbo as an attractive place to live and invest in.
“There has also been great success in attracting major events and maximising their benefit to the local economy,” he said.
“Possibly the largest event for 2015 will be the Aboriginal Rugby League Knockout which will bring 15,000 people to Dubbo for the October long weekend.
“Council is working hard to ensure that event patrons get to experience the city and, as consequence grow the visitor economy.
“The city has also hosted some 50 smaller events, such as the NSW RSL Swimming Championships, that are important regular injections to the local economy.”
