A group of 23 volunteers said goodbye to their families on Friday when they left as part of a second taskforce sent to Sydney to help clean up the aftermath of the city's wild weather.

The NSW State Emergency Service formally requested a second taskforce to offer relief and the ACT State Emergency Service is preparing to offer a third team if asked.
More than 100,000 homes and businesses were battered by cyclonic winds and rain, which eased on Thursday allowing salvage efforts to begin.
Earlier in the week, 22 ACT SES volunteers and one staff member travelled to the state for a three-day deployment to help relieve NSW SES crews who had been working around the clock.
As well as the ACT crews, members from Queanbeyan SES were also deployed to help clean up storm-stricken NSW.
Two teams from the Queanbeyan unit helped in southern Sydney while four more were on their way to the mid-north coast on Friday.
A Bungendore unit was assisting residents in the Hunter region.
Queanbeyan SES operations manager, Brent Hunter, said that crews had reported massive damage caused by trees.
Mr Hunter said members were describing the damage as "crazy" with some reporting they had never seen anything like it before.
ACT SES chief officer Tony Graham said on Friday it was a safe operation and most of the work was removing heavy trees and branches off vehicles, homes and public areas.
"A lot of the people going up this time are very experienced operators, but there is certainly a hand full of people who have never been on an incident nearly as big as this so they are going to learn a heap," Mr Graham said.
"They will be doing more work in a couple of days than what they probably do in a few months here."
School teacher Kate Greeney from the Gungahlin unit said school holidays were a perfect time for her to offer support.
"It is what we train for and we don't get a lot of opportunities to actually go and do the real thing so it's always good to go lend a hand when you can," Ms Greeney said.
For school teacher Joshua Parsons from the Majura unit, it was another opportunity to do what he loved, which was "helping the community" and to show the great service offered by ACT ESA.
"We have been tasked to the pit-water area up in Sydney. We will be cutting down trees, helping fix roofs, and doing those sorts of things as well as our regular storm duties."
The task force was assigned to the Bankstown area but the NSW SES may redeploy them to other areas if required.
The ACT taskforce will return to Canberra on Sunday.
