The first event, a 25m freestyle handicap race, was hotly contested with the 'famous five' of Ross Tomlins, Linda Saffy, Louise Taylor, Ron Soden and Tom Gray making the final.
With no breakers in the event Ross Tomlins touched first with a time of 0.12. Second in was Linda Saffy on 0.22 followed by Louise Taylor (0.53), with Ron Soden and Tom Gray out of the placings.
The second event was a 2 x 50m brace relay of backstroke/backstroke, and it really tested the friendship with our race secretary.
Needless to say, the first four teams who managed to make the final all broke their time, paving the way for the team of John Wherritt and Lucy Taylor to take the money for the day with a combined time of 1.35.
The final swim for the day was a 25m breaststroke with five top guns making the final.
Mark Scullard came first on 0.47s, with Tom Gray following on 0.92s and Ron Everett third with 1.36s.
Thank you to Blues Meats, who sponsored the trophy race on April 12.
The next trophy race will be on May 3, sponsored by Donut King. There will also be a monthly meeting on that day as well.
Two of our Ducks, Greg Salmon and Greg Jankowski, are in Gallipoli to take part in the remembrance services there.
As returned servicemen yourselves, we know you will honour the memory of the Anzacs and do yourselves and Dubbo proud.
Our best wishes to you both for a safe trip. As mentioned previously, the Ducks are always keen to recruit and welcome new members to our club. We are first and foremost a swimming club, but we're also a social club.
We are currently looking to include various short trips to our agenda, so if you are interested and feel our club might be just what you need for a bit of exercise and company join us at the RSL pool on Sunday mornings at 9am.
