Fresh from escaping with a narrow win against Westside on Saturday night, defending premiers Dubbo CYMS will have a six-day turnaround when they face the improving Forbes Spacemen at Caltex Park on Friday night.
In good news for Fishies fans, centre Jyie Chapman is expected to return from a foot injury that kept him out of the Westside clash.
On Saturday, Westside will make the trek down the Newell Highway to face the unbeaten Parkes Spacemen, while Dubbo Macquarie face the prospect of heading to Kennard Park to tackle the Wellington Cowboys on the same day.
The Raiders started their campaign last Saturday with a hard-fought 24-12 win over Cobar, while Wellington have a win and a loss from their two outings so far in 2015.
A narrow win against Nyngan was followed up by a loss to Parkes on Sunday, and Justin Toomey-White’s men will be keen to not lose back-to-back matches at home.
The only Sunday match of this weekend’s round will be played at Tom Knight Oval, when the Cobar Roosters host the Narromine Jets.
Both sides are yet to register a win so far this season, but Cobar showed great improvement against Macquarie, and drew high praise from Raiders coach Guy Meredith.
Being a Cobar home game will only help their cause as they should have a full-strength squad available.
