Dennis Moran's men showed no signs of missing former stalwart Pat Rosser, who left in the off-season, as they proved too good for a Cowboys squad that a week earlier had won their opening clash of the 2015 season.
With the likes of big Dave Masoe leading the way up front, Moran and Sam Dwyer had plenty of room to move, however Wellington stayed in the contest with flashes of brilliance.
Parkes took a 22-18 lead into half-time, and after the teams split the first two tries of the second stanza, Parkes pulled away through tries to Epi Sadrodro, Dwyer, Jack Medlin and Michael Mitchell before Cowboys flyer Tjapukai Shaw rounded out the scoring with a runaway try late in the contest.

Nyngan bounced back from a narrow loss to Wellington in round one, beating Narromine 52-28 at Cale Oval on Saturday night.
The Tigers had nine individual try-scorers in the win, with their cause aided by some poor Narromine defence. It wasn't all doom and gloom for Luke Harding's Jets though, with classy prop Luke Thompson scoring twice while Mick Burns also crossed the line on two occasions.
After splitting their first two matches of the season, Nyngan will have the bye during the Anzac weekend while Narromine will get a chance to register their first win of the season when they tackle Cobar on Sunday.

Dubbo Macquarie won all three grades against the Roosters at Cobar on Saturday but they didn't fare as well on the trip home.
According to reports the rain that swept the Central West on Saturday not only was helpful for the farmers, but it also brought some of the native fauna to life.
The Raiders' team bus had a run-in with a kangaroo on the way back to Dubbo, while club president Mark Meredith also had a run-in with a wayward skippy in his own vehicle.
Thankfully everyone made it home in one piece, even though they were a little bit later than first expected.

A couple of wily old veterans got off the dreaded nudie run on Saturday, much to their delight.
Macquarie stalwart Zac Rennick and his former clubmate Ash Conn, now at CYMS, aren't renowned for their try-scoring prowess but both cross the line in their respective matches.
Now playing reserve grade, Rennick bagged a double in Macquarie's win over Cobar while Conn scored a crucial four-pointer in CYMS' narrow first grade win over Westside.

Speaking of Westside, their performance on Saturday night against the Fishies made a lot of keen observers sit up and take notice.
Boasting a squad with the likes of Josh Merritt, Swade Dunn, Kinni Qereqeretabua, Justin Shillingsworth and Buddy Louie, they have plenty of strike power and they will win more games than they lose this season and can definitely push for a spot in the finals.
Robbie Dunn has plenty of talent at his disposal, it's now just a matter for the group to gel before they fall too far behind their rivals.
