"We're looking pretty good, we're all ready to go," he said.

"We're just worrying about ourselves and continuing on with our defence and ball security."

"Just hoping that we all do our job as part of a team."

But with Jarryn Powyer and Jye Chapman under an injury cloud, it's not certain whether that team will be at the same strength as they were in round 1.

Powyer injured his ankle in last week's season opener, while Chapman hurt his foot.

"We've got a couple of blokes that got a little bit injured last week so we'll see how they are," Ryan said.

"They may be rested [on Saturday]."

Otherwise, he said the side is gelling well.

"It's only early on, but we've had quite a few personnel changes," he said.

"But it's all going pretty well."

And despite Westside still being a relatively new side in the Group 11, Ryan said it would be dangerous to count them out.

"They gave us two good battles last year," he said.

"I think they've got big forwards and fast backs, so they'll have to be watched all over the park."

"All you can do really is worry about how you perform and hopefully it's good enough to win."

Meanwhile, Dubbo Westside were on the other end of the scoreboard last week, where they went down 50-28 to Forbes.

But with a number of female club members stepping up to the board, and working behind the scenes, captain Shane Konz said the Rabbitohs are a new club this year.

"It's a whole new culture at Westside this year," he said.

"With a lot of bad publicity last year, we're changing a few things."

"Everyone's always watching for us to make mistakes, but hopefully they'll see a new, different, Westside."

They even have a cheerleading squad, made up of some of the players' daughters, and Konz said today's game will be a family affair.

"There's a lot of girlfriends and wives helping and some of us have got kids and we've got them involved this year," he said.

"And I've got a young family too that are going to come to watch and I play for that now."

And stepping up as captain of the side is something that Konz takes very seriously.

"[Referees] are keeping a good eye on what we've got to do, so we've got to be 100 per cent on the ball with discipline and that's what were doing," he said.

"I'm proud to be the captain. The opportunity I've got to captain this side is one of [my] biggest achievements."

And he said the Rabbitohs, from the juniors all the way up to first grade, are fired up to take on last year's premiers.

"The boys are jumping out their skins to be playing CYMS tomorrow," he said.

"Obviously we're the underdogs but we're shaping up alright."

"Completing sets and working in defence will be key for us."

"Obviously they're the benchmark and we're only new, so we haven't focused on what they've got. We'll just be ready to go."

And he said the new and improved Rabbitohs will be playing for their friends, family and fans today.

"Westside have a pretty good supporter base so we hope they all get here. We've just got to do what we have to on the field and get a win for them hopefully," he said.
