Western Plains Theatre hosted a three-day workshop for the aspiring actors and actresses in a bid to inspire Australia's next Hugh Jackman or Cate Blanchett.
Dubbo's young talent, Andy Carolan, Michaela Davis and Shane Gosper, used the school holidays to their advantage which saw more than 50 young troops enroll in the workshop.
An active member of Western Plains Theatre, Mr Carolan said the trio had planned to show the young actors the basic acting techniques of improvisation, characterisation and script work.
"We've set out to give them an insight into the industry," Mr Carolan said.
"We're hoping this has been a great chance for a lot of young students to work out if the arts is something they want to pursue."
Mr Carolan said Western Plains Theatre had taken a turn this year by balancing the number of performances to the number of opportunities provided for Dubbo youth.
"While this was the first workshop we hosted this year, we're aiming to do at least three a year," he said.
Mr Carolan said while there was enthusiasm in the youth, there were limited opportunities."
We saw there was a need to do something like this and we're planning on keep on running with it."
