Tasmania Police went to the property on Friday after receiving a call at 3.50pm.
ABC news said last night it was believed the incident was a murder-suicide, but Tasmania Police would not confirm this.
Police said ambulance personnel and forensic investigators were at the scene during the afternoon.
However, with nightfall, investigators could not continue their investigations, requiring them to secure the scene. Investigations are expected to continue at the property today.
Tasmania Police released no further information on the incident on Friday night. They will hold a media conference on Saturday morning at the Devonport Police Station.
