GROUP 11 rugby league is back and with it again is the calm demeanour of Dubbo CYMS coach Tim Ryan.
Ryan led his side to the Group 11 premiership last season and on Sunday they begin their title defence at home against the Narromine Jets.
The quietly-spoken Ryan is hugely respected within the club and despite having a team packed with talent he says he is not looking for anything extraordinary from his side early on in the season.
"Just show up and be ready to go, that's what I'll be trying to get from the boys week in, week out," he said.
"We've got to be ready for the challenge and I'm not looking three or four weeks ahead, we've got to do our job."
While the bulk of last season's team has been retained there are new faces in the squad and Ryan has had no hesitation in naming them in the starting side.
Scott Burgess was a big recruit from the Dubbo Kangaroos rugby union side and he will begin the season in the centres.?There is a also new-look front row with former Macquarie enforcer Ash Conn lining up alongside the retuning Billy Sing.
Sing was a standout during the 2013 season when he led the Fishies under-18s side to the title and has made the move back to Dubbo after a year in Sydney.
"He's looking good, we played the two trials and he went really well," Ryan said.
"He's put on some size and the fitness is getting there."
While Sing has slotted in seamlessly, Burgess, who played rugby league as a junior, has had to re-familiarise himself with the game.
"He's been really keen, it's new to him but he's slotted in nicely," Ryan said of the former NSW Country rugby representative.
"We've lost a couple of centres and I know he can play fullback, in the six jersey, centres or wing so we'll start him in the centres and how we go from there.
"We'll give first shot of the six to Colby (Pellow), he's looked good and been one of our best in pre-season."
Pellow has made the move from the wing to five-eighth with John Grey and Marshall Sing named on the flanks for Sunday's match.
Luke Jenkins will captain the side from halfback with Alex Bonham slotting in at hooker.
Ryan admitted he was not totally certain of what kind of team Narromine would be bringing to Caltex Park but was well aware nothing could be taken for granted in the early rounds.
"I don't know a great deal exactly about them but they've got a good core group of blokes who have been there for a few years," he said.
"Everyone will be fresh and have a full contingent. I know Luke Harding is out so that's a big blow but I'm sure they've got blokes who are going to stand up."
Sunday's action begins with the under-18s kicking off at 11.30am.
