Event co-ordinator, Mal Norton, told the Daily Liberal on Monday "Tamworth better look out".
Mr Norton said he was blown away by the talent, not only at performances in the city, but more specifically at the Totally Music Talent Search.
Held at the RSL Club Theatrette on Saturday, April 4, Mr Norton said people from across the state had traveled to Dubbo specifically for the competition.
"If what I saw was an indication of the level of talent in country music, Tamworth better look out," Mr Norton said.
"The talent I saw over the weekend was brilliant."
Along with the entrants in the Totally Music Talent Search, Mr Norton said he was pleased with the acts who had traveled to Dubbo to perform over the three days of Easter festivities.
Dwayne Elix and the Engineers, Jade Martin Band, Dale Hooper Classic Country Hits, Lance Birrell, The Long and Short of it and Isaac Compton all lent their musical talents to many Dubbo country music enthusiasts.
Mr Norton said the Dubbo festival was here to stay.
"As long as I'm around, this will keep on running each year."
