They have received $150,000 for conservation works.
Barwon MP Kevin Humphries said the St Ignatius Convent would be brought back to its 1924 state through the removal of unsuitable additions and balcony infill, along with woodwork repairs.
He said the convent and church buildings would be weatherproofed.
"Once these upgrades are completed, it is hoped the buildings will be used for all sorts of community gatherings and events," the MP said.
Mr Humphries said it was vital to protect and conserve "our heritage" in honour of forebears and for the benefit of generations to come.
"I am delighted the Baird government is delivering substantial funding and support to protect our heritage treasures in our local community and across NSW," he said.
The program will include $16 million of new funding to repair and upgrade items on both state and local heritage lists.
"Previously grants were only available to state heritage-listed properties, but we understand that local heritage needs support too," Mr Humphries said.
Bourke has also received $4000 for the Bourke Local Heritage Fund and $4000 to sustain a heritage advisor service.
