Following negotiations with Sainsbury Automotive representative Graham Miller and TATA Motors, Club Dubbo is very excited about this new partnership that will enhance the skills of the club's junior bowlers, both on and off the greens.
The sponsorship deal is worth $4000 per annum and this will enable the academy to purchase a distinctive uniform, which will include a shirt, jacket, and hat, all bearing the logo of the club and the sponsors.
In addition, the sponsorship will pay full entry fees to junior championships and tournaments across the state and contribute to travel and accommodation for the juniors and their parents.
At present Club Dubbo has 13 junior bowlers, a good mixture of promising girls and boys.
Members of the Junior Academy must be under the age of 17, and they will be known as 'The Joeys', in line with the bowling club's emblem of the kangaroo.
There will be some conditions for membership to the academy, and these include commitment, etiquette (on and off the greens), and expectations to attend training days, both individual and as a group.
Parents will play a key role in ensuring that the conditions set down for members of the academy are met and upheld, and Club Dubbo bowls' co-ordinator Anthony Brown will be a key figure in the liaison with the juniors, their parents and the club's coaching panel.
Club Dubbo has 11 qualified coaches on this panel. It is led by John Rodis, a state junior selector and recipient of countless community and local government awards for his dedication, knowledge and skills in coaching and promoting lawn bowls.
The academy is well placed to offer its junior members top coaching to achieve its ends.
Following consultation with all stakeholders, coaches and juniors will be 'paired up' according to skill levels and compatibility.
Training will be held regularly in line with the program's guidelines, and there will be good communication between coaches and players to promote their skill levels.
Once again, Club Dubbo thanks Sainsbury Automotive and TATA Motors for their sponsorship of the Junior Academy over the coming years.
