The hospital ward will be open to the public from Good Friday and Old Dubbo Gaol project officer Mike Blake said he was very proud of the results.
"It's as close as we can get to being original. Even the flooring, everything is as close as we can get to identical," he said.
"We're telling the 1880s story right through the gaol. We have to know what happened before and after that but we're sticking to the 1880s," Mr Blake said.
As well as the furniture, the room also includes the stories of six of the prisoners who died in the infirmary.
Mr Blake said the research took around eight months and involved three trips to Sydney, as well as trips to Canberra, Broken Hill and South Australia.
The Dubbo Group of the Embroiderers' Guild of NSW made the mattresses, pillows and bolsters, staying true to the original design and style.
Jane Dowling said when they first started, she thought the work would be finished in a weekend, but they quickly realised it would take a little more.
"It's just nice to be a part of something, the history, you can claim a little part of that," Ms Dowling said.
The embroiderers said it had been an interesting experience and Roxanne Peterie said it was nice to see the finished product.
