DESPITE going down in the Pinnington Cup final on Sunday, CYMS captain Darryl Thompson was full of praise for the victorious RSL-Colts team and in particular match-winner Brad Cox.

CYMS made a competitive 203 on day one and despite picking up three early wickets on Sunday the Cougars couldn't stop the veteran Brad Cox from scoring 90 and leading his side to victory.
"The spirit the game was played in was great," Thompson said.
"Bradley (Cox) is a great cricketer and a good leader and he was the rock, they built an innings which beat us around him."
Cox, who has battled persistent back troubles and illness this season, was humble in his assessment of the match, preferring to focus on the strong mix of youth and experience in his side rather than his own performance.
"It's a good effort from where we were four weeks ago, we weren't going to make the semis and then in the finals we scored 260 and then chased down 200 which is pretty uncommon, especially in second grade so I'm really proud of the boys," he said.
"We've got a lot of young fellas and they stood up so it's a good feeling."
CYMS got off to a flying start on day one after winning the toss and batting.
Thompson (24) and Dave McAlister (45) combined for a 74-run opening stand but both feel within quick succession off the bowling of Sam Campbell (2-45).
With CYMS' own batting legend, Jaspal Bansal, at the crease the chance was always there to post a huge total but Colts fought with the ball and persisted with a diligent line and length to never let CYMS get away.
Bansal held the innings together as wickets fell around him and batted 45 overs for his 66 before falling late on while trying to lift the run rate.
"I was very worried about Jaspal, he could have torn us apart at the end we would have been chasing 250 so we stuck to it well," Cox said.
"It's a flat deck so we had to bowl and field well and we did that and we were pretty lucky to be chasing 200.
"I was always confident when they didn't get 250 that we'd probably get there."
Thompson admitted he would have liked a score closer to 260 but his side began well with the ball.
Troy Tracey picked up a quick two wickets but Cox combined with Kyle Myers to steady the innings and start to put their side on top with a 63-run partnership
Despite Myers falling for 24, Cox passed 50 and kept the score ticking over.
"I still enjoy batting just the body falls apart a bit," he said.
"I know I have to do that for the side and if I stick around then it gives the other guys confidence that we can win the game and as long as I'm there they play better so my job is to just hang around all day and score a few."
Cox fell just short of a century as he was bowled when looking for a big shot down the ground but the work was done and it was shortly after that Colts were home.
