The Wellington Boot carnival began with a six-race meeting on Saturday and in the last event of the day Don't Tease Me recorded win number three from five starts this year.
After one win from four starts before the beginning of 2015, Don't Tease Me began the year with a victory at Wellington and he returned to the track again on Saturday for the Alf and June Thomas Memorial Class 2 Handicap (900m).
Jockey Leanne Henry jumped well from barrier 10 and immediately got to the lead onboard Don't Tease Me and that was as close as the rest of the field got.
In a sprint event, Don't Tease Me ($2 favourite) blitzed the field and had already built a two length lead by the time they rounded the bend for home.
That lead grew and grew down the straight as Henry went on to win by eight lengths.
Wheely Wilson ($9) came in second for trainer Nicola Edwards while the Kylie Kennedy-trained El Nomac ($15) was third.
The favourites took out the final three races of the day with Don't Tease Me's win following on from victories for Leaders Road and Bench Star.
In one of the more intriguing races of the day, Leaders Road cruised to a five length victory over highly-rated Irish galloper Wazn.
Wazn, ridden by Kody Nestor and carrying the top weight of 64kg, got to the lead as they approached the bend in the Brennans Welding Works Iron Horse benchmark 65 Handicap (2400m) but couldn't hang on.
In the longest race of the weekend in terms of distance, Leaders Road sat comfortably towards the front of the field all race but as they got to the straight apprentice jockey Jacob Gilchrist made his move.
In the end it was a comfortable victory as Leaders Road ($2) recorded a five-length victory.
Wazn ($5.50) held on for second while Declasse ($11) was third for Gulgong trainer Brett Thompson.
With Bench Star ($2) taking out the One Stop Automotive Repair Shop Benchmark 63 Handicap (1400m), other winners on the day included Clever Buttons ($4.40) in the Bell River Thoroughbreds Maiden Handicap (900m) and Got Swag ($8) in the Thoroughbred Events Australia Maiden Plate (1100m) while the Barnson Design Class 1 & Maiden Plate (1700m) was taken out by the Thompson-trained Fairisle Miss ($9).
