A MAN faces a series of firearm and drug charges following a search warrant at a property near Nyngan last year.

On October 9, officers attached to Darling River Local Area Command searched a Hermidale property.
Police seized firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, black powder and 36 cannabis plants and the items underwent forensic examination.
No one was at the property when the warrant was carried out.
Ongoing investigations led to the arrest of a 49-year-old man at a hotel in Hermidale on Thursday night.
He was taken to Nyngan Police Station and charged with:
- Possess unauthorised firearm (four counts);
- Possess firearm without holding a licence (four counts);
- Possess unregistered firearm (11 counts);
- Possess firearm/barrel;
- Acquire firearm part without authority (four counts);
- Possess unauthorised firearm (six counts);
- Possess/supply explosive for unlawful purpose;
- Handle explosive/precursor without authorising licence (two counts);
- Fail to comply with precursor standards (two counts);
- Fail to keep explosive precursor in secure store (two counts);
- Allow unsupervised access – explosives no security clearance (two counts);
- Handle explosives without required security clearance (two counts);
- Cultivate prohibited plant; and,
- Possess prohibited plant.
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Nyngan Local Court on April 29.
